8.Sweet potatoes do not cause blood sugar spikes:
Sweet potatoes are sweet in nature and taste but all it takes is natural sugar that releases the sugar in bloodstream slowly and due to this it causes to regulate and balances the blood sugar levels in the blood flow and makes the sugar as source of energy. Sweetness in sweet potatoes doesn’t contains any artificial sugar and it doesn’t cause spikes or weight gain.
9.Sweet potatoes help ward off cancer and protect against the effects of aging:
Fruits and vegetables rich in vibrant orange color are more likely to be enriched with healthy antioxidants like carotenoids that includes beta carotenes. Which are basically the ancestors of vitamins in our body, especially Vitamin A. carotenoids are known for strengthening our immune system and vision. And they are powerful enough to fight cancer causing cells in the body and also protects from premature aging. Sweet potatoes contains rich orange color along with all these healthy antioxidants.
According to a study mentioned in Harvard University, 32% of the people among 124’000, shows they have lower risk of lung diseases. And that 32% of the people were those who used to consume sweet potatoes or other bright orange fruits or veggies regularly. As another study shows, women who have been suffering from breast cancer and almost done with the treatment should contains foods rich in beta carotenes to prevent reoccurrence of cancer.

Sweet potatoes are rich in so many of essential nutrients and they can be used in whatever form you want. They can either be used in pureed form, roasted or baked form or even grilled, they taste equally good in all forms. Sweet potatoes can be used in stews and soups. Grill them with leafy veggies to have great and healthier dinner or lunch. Grilled sweet potatoes with bell peppers and onions in wraps or sandwiches is my favorite kind of dinner. You can also make smoothies out of sweet potato puree. In either way, you can avail number of health benefits with delicious taste.
